My name is Krista and I am a family lifestyle & documentary photographer in Lockport , Illinois. I love making memories and documenting them so I can travel back to that time and remember what it felt like to live that moment. I want to remember those little smiles, little pitter-patter feet and silly laughs. I am passionate about documenting life for families in a way that is truly "them". Why I do what I do...
Running ahead of me, in a little blue tunic dress and a stuffed yellow duck in hand is my spunky two year old daughter. She runs ahead of me down the path of the arboretum that we visit repeatedly during the summers here in Chicago. She suddenly stops, turns around and puts up her little hand toward me and says " wait mom..." Then I open my eyes. It was a dream. A very real dream that is now years in the past. Time doesn't wait. My daughter is much older now and the years have moved on. Life changes so fast...
Time moves in one direction. We can't move it back no matter how much we may want to. Would I have been able to remember that exact moment if I had not documented it with what I had at that time? As I write this my heart is filled with nostalgia for that moment. I've had an interest in photography all my life but my real passion and need for photography started when my daughter was born, and its blossomed ever since.
